Report: Jason Knight Faces Gabriel Benitez At UFC Fight Night Fresno

A featherweight division attraction may be the next bout added to UFC Fight Night Fresno as #15 Jason Knight is in action against Gabriel Benitez.

It was Knight who announced the bout through Instagram:

Knight (20-3-0) has won four of his last five under the UFC, those wins came over Jim Alers, Dan Hooker, Alex Caceres and Chas Skelly. Knight is going to be competing for the fourth time in 2017, the most active he has been in a single year since 2014. Knight is also a former Atlas Fights Featherweight Champion, defeating Michael Roberts to win the belt at Atlas Fights 23.

Benitez (19-6-0) has won just one of his last three bouts in the UFC, that lone win came over Sam Sicilia at UFC Fight Night 94. Benitez also made it to the semi-finals of the UFC Ultimate Fighter Latin America 1, losing to Leonardo Morales in that semi-final round bout. Benitez also held the Xtreme Fighters Latino Featherweight belt, defeating Daniel Salas to win the title in 2011.

UFC Fight Night Fresno takes place on Saturday, December 9 from the Save Mart Center in Fresno, California with Cub Swanson and Brian Ortega headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
