The Invicta FC Strawweight Title is going to be defended in the main event of Invicta FC 37 according to MMA Fighting as Jinh Yu Frey puts the gold on the line Ashley Cummins.
Frey (8-4-0) is going to be making the second defense of her championship, last defending it against Minna Grusander at Invicta FC 33. Frey and Cummins have met once before, with Frey scoring a unanimous decision win at Invicta FC 24. Frey has competed twelve times as a professional MMA fighter and more than half of those encounters went the distance.
Cummins (7-4-0) has been undefeated since that first meeting with Frey, defeating the duo of Stephanie Alba and Jessica Correa Delboni. Cummins has suffered four losses as a professional MMA fighter, with three of them coming to a trio of UFC veterans in Emily Kagan, Alexa Grasso and Joanne Calderwood. Cummins went undefeated during her extensive amateur MMA career, which included a win over UFC veteran Jocelyn Jones-Lybarger.
Invicta FC 37 takes place on Friday, October 4 from the Memorial Hall in Kansas City, Kansas with Jinh Yu Frey and Ashley Cummins headlining. Fightful will provide quick results of the event, which streams live on UFC Fight Pass.
