A women’s strawweight division clash is going to be headlining UFC Fight Night San Francisco according to Brett Okamoto of ESPN as #4 Joanna Jedrzejczyk is in action against #7 Michelle Waterson.

Jedrzejczyk (15-3-0) has won just one of her last four under the UFC banner, with that lone win coming against Tecia Torrres at UFC On Fox 30. Jedrzejczyk is a former UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion, defeating Carla Esparza to win the gold at UFC 185. Jedrzejczyk has also challenged for the UFC Women’s Flyweight Championship, losing to Valentina Shevchenko via unanimous decision at UFC 231.

Waterson (17-6-0) enters the contest in the midst of a three fight winning streak, last defeating Karolina Kowalkiewicz by unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night Philadelphia. Waterson has seen her last four fights go the distance and it has been over two years since the fighter got a finish. Waterson is a former Invicta FC Atomweight Champion, defeating Jessica Penne at Invicta FC 5 to claim the gold.

UFC Fight Night San Francisco takes place on Saturday, October 12 from the Chase Center in San Francisco, California with Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Michelle Waterson headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
