A women’s flyweight division contest between #11 Joanne Calderwood and Ariane Lipski, originally scheduled for UFC 233, has been moved to UFC Fight Night Brooklyn.
No reason has been given for the change according to the report from MMA Fighting.
Calderwood (12-3-0) has won just one of her last three bouts in the UFC, with that lone win coming over Kalindra Faria at UFC Fight Night Lincoln. Calderwood competed in the first ever women’s flyweight division bout in UFC history, defeating Valerie Letourneau by third round TKO at UFC Fight Night 89. Calderwood has picked up twelve wins as a professional MMA fighter and half of them have come by way of decision.
Lipski (11-3-0) is going to be making her UFC debut in this encounter and does so on the strength of a nine fight winning streak. Lipski is a former KSW MMA Women’s Flyweight Champion, defeating Diana Belbita at KSW 39 to claim the gold. Lipski has defeated one UFC veteran prior to signing with the promotion and that win came over Sheila Gaff at KSW 36.
UFC Fight Night Brooklyn takes place on Saturday, January 19 from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
