A light heavyweight division attraction has been added to UFC 252 as Jorge Gonzalez is in action against Ike Villanueva.
MMA Junkie first reported the bout, who’s spot on the card isn’t known at this time.
Gonzalez (16-5-0) is going to be making his UFC debut in this bout and does so having won seven of his last eight bouts. Gonzalez competed just over a month ago at the UWC Mexico 22 event, defeating Marcos Rodriguez by first round submission. Gonzalez has competed a total of twenty one times as a professional MMA fighter and none of his bouts went the distance.
Villanueva (16-10-0) is currently winless under the UFC banner, having dropped a bout to Chase Sherman at UFC Fight Night: Smith vs. Teixeira. Villanueva hasn’t picked up a victory in nearly a year, as his last win came at Fury FC 40 in December of 2019. Villanueva has picked up sixteen wins as a professional MMA fighter and thirteen of them came by way of KO/TKO.
UFC 252 takes place on Saturday, August 15 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
