A bantamweight division attraction has been added to UFC 245 as #3 (FW) Jose Aldo is in action against #1 Marlon Moraes.
MMA Junkie first reported the bout, although its placement on the card isn’t know at this time.
Aldo (28-5-0) is going to be making his bantamweight division debut in this encounter, having previously competed exclusively at featherweight. Aldo is the first ever UFC Featherweight Champion and defended the belt seven times before losing it to Conor McGregor at UFC 194. Aldo has challenged for the featherweight title two times after losing it, dropping a pair of bouts to Max Holloway at UFC 212 and UFC 218.
Moraes (22-6-1) is going to be competing for the first time since losing a title bout to two division UFC champion Henry Cejudo at UFC 238. Moraes was the first and only WSOF Bantamweight Champion, defeating Josh Rettinghouse to win the gold at the WSOF 9 in March of 2014. Moraes is winless when competing at UFC pay-per-view events, losing bouts at UFC 238 and UFC 212.
UFC 245 takes place on Saturday, December 14 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
