Dan Ige was left without an opponent after Charles Rosa pulled out of their bout at UFC 220 due to injuries, but that’s no longer the case because Julio Arce has agreed to step in on short notice.

Ige (8-1-0) is going to be making his UFC debut in this fight and does so on the strength of a six fight winning streak. Ige did compete on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 3, defeating Luis Gomez by third round submission. Ige’s lone loss as a professional MMA fighter came at Pancrase 272 in November 2015 and that defeat came to Taichi Nakajima.

Arce (13-2-0) is also going to be making his UFC debut in this fight and he hasn’t suffered a defeat in almost two years. Arce competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 5, defeating Peter Petties by second round TKO. Arce has only suffered two defeats as a professional MMA fighter and both of those losses came to UFC veteran Brian Kelleher.

UFC 220 takes place on Saturday, January 20 from the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts with Stipe Miocic and Francis Ngannou headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
