MMA

A lightweight attraction between Kenny Cross and Damonte Robinson has been pulled from the August 4 episode of Dana White’s Contender Series.

James Lynch first reported the news, citing an eye issue on Robinson’s behalf which was discovered by Nevada State Athletic Commission (NAC) doctors.

Cross also commented on the matter through Facebook:

“You guys aren’t gonna believe this but my opponent had something wrong with his eye the doctor won’t clear him thus he has dropped from the fight tomorrow. If I hear anything else I’ll let you know. Stupid.”

There is no word yet as to whether or not the fight will get rebooked for a future Contender Series event or if the fighters will go their separate ways.

Tonight’s card will now move on with four fights, which will feature:

Ty Flores vs. Dustin Jacoby
Mikey Gonzalez vs. Uros Medic
Luis Rodriguez vs. Jerome Rivera
Luke Flores vs. Jordan Leavitt

Dana White’s Contender Series Episode 27 takes place tonight from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Ty Flores and Dustin Jacoby headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
