A heavyweight division attraction has been added to Bellator 218 according to MMA Junkie as Linton Vassell is going to be in action against Valentin Moldavsky.
Vassell (18-7-0-1NC) is going to be making his heavyweight division debut in this encounter, having previously competed at light heavyweight. Vassell has twice before challenged for the Bellator Light Heavyweight Title, losing to current champion Ryan Bader at Bellator 186 and then champion Emmanuel Newton at Bellator 130. Vassell has suffered seven losses as a professional MMA fighter and more than half of those defeats have come by way of KO/TKO.
Moldavsky (7-1-0) is currently undefeated under the Bellator MMA banner, defeating the duo of Carl Seumanutafa and Ernest James. Moldavsky has suffered just a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came against Amir Aliakbari at Rizin 4. Moldavsky won the Russian MMA Union Russian MMA Cup in 2014 as an amateur fighter, defeating Shamil Nizamudinov in the finals.
Bellator 218 takes place on Friday, March 22 from the Winstar World Resort & Casino in Thackerville, Oklahoma with Emmanuel Sanchez and Ashleigh Grimshaw headlining. Fightful is going to be providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the Paramount Network.
