A women’s strawweight division encounter has been added to UFC Fight Night San Francisco according to Brett Okamoto of ESPN as Mackenzie Dern is going to be in action against Amanda Ribas.
Dern (7-0-0) is going to be competing for the first time in over a year, as she gave birth to a baby girl in June of this year. Dern has already picked up two wins under the UFC banner, having defeated the duo of Amanda Bobby Cooper and Ashley Yoder. Dern has picked up seven wins as a professional MMA fighter and more than half of those victories came by way of submission.
Ribas (7-1-0) is undefeated thus far in UFC competition, having defeated Emily Whitmire by second round submission at UFC Fight Night Phoenix. Ribas has suffered just a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came to fellow UFC fighter Polyana Viana at Jungle Fight 83. Ribas has competed a total of eight times as a professional MMA fighter and just one fight went the distance.
UFC Fight Night San Francisco takes place on Saturday, October 12 from the Chase Center in San Francisco, California with Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Michelle Waterson headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
