A women’s flyweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night: Poirier vs. Hooker as Mara Romero Borella faces Miranda Maverick.
MMA DNA first reported the bout, who’s spot on the card isn’t known at this time.
Borella (11-8-0-3NC) enters the contest on a three fight losing streak, dropping bouts to Lauren Murphy, Montana De La Rosa and Cortney Casey. Borella hasn’t picked up a victory in over a year, with that last win coming at UFC Fight Night Fortaleza in February of 2019. Borella has suffered eight losses as a professional MMA fighter and half of them came by way of KO/TKO.
Maverick (7-2-0) is going to be making her UFC debut in this bout and does so on the strength of a three fight winning streak. Maverick won the Invicta FC Phoenix Series 2 Flyweight Tournament, defeating DeAnna Bennett in the finals by third round submission. Maverick has picked up seven wins as a professional MMA fighter and five of them came by way of submission.
UFC Fight Night: Poirier vs. Hooker takes place on Saturday, June 27 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Dustin Poirier and Dan Hooker headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on ESPN.
