A middleweight division encounter is the latest addition to the UFC 224 card according to Raphael Marinho of Combate as Markus Perez faces James Bochnovic.
Perez (9-1-0) is currently winless under the UFC banner, dropping a bout to Eryk Anders at UFC Fight Night Fresno. Perez also competed once in the Legacy Fighting Alliance promotion, defeating Ian Heinisch by first round submission at LFA 22. Perez is also a former Thunder Fight Middleweight Champion, defeating UFC veteran Paulo Thiago by unanimous decision at Thunder Fight 7 to win the gold.
Bochnovic (8-2-0) is also winless thus far during his journey within the UFC, having lost a bout to Trevin Giles via second round knockout at UFC 213. Bochnovic has yet to see any of his professional MMA bouts go the distance and only one of those fights went past the opening round. Bochnovic also went undefeated during his time as an amateur MMA competitor, with none of those fights making out of the first round.
UFC 224 takes place on Saturday, May 12 from the Jeunesse Arena in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil with Amanda Nunes and Raquel Pennington headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
