A women’s strawweight division encounter may be coming to the UFC on Fox 29 card according to AZ Central as #7 Michelle Waterson could battle #12 Cortney Casey.
Waterson (14-6-0) enters the fight riding a two fight losing streak, dropping fights to the duo of Rose Namajunas and Tecia Torres. Waterson hasn’t earned a victory in well over a year and that last win came over Paige VanZant at UFC On Fox 22. Waterson is also a former Invicta Fighting Championships Atomweight Champion, defeating Jessica Penne at Invicta FC 5 to win the gold.
Casey (7-5-0) has won just one of her last three in UFC competition, with that win coming over Jessica Aguilar at UFC 211. Casey has seen her last three bouts go to a decision and it has almost been two years since the competitor earned a finish in a fight. Casey won a total of six fights as an amateur MMA competitor, with one of those wins coming over fellow UFC fighter Ashley Yoder.
UFC On Fox 29 takes place on Saturday, April 14 from the Gila River Arena in Glendale, Arizona with Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox.
