A loss at UFC Fight Night Uruguay wasn’t the only problem for Perry, as the fighter suffered a gruesome broken nose from a flying knee strike by Luque.
The fighter would immediately be taken to the hospital after the bout, where emergency surgery was performed to repair the damage. Perry is expected to remain in the hospital for a little while until he is cleared to return to Florida for further recovery.
Perry would post the following on Instagram about the injury and surgery:
MMA Junkie is also reporting that Perry could be out for up to six months before being cleared for training with contact due to the injury and subsequent recovery. Perry has won just two of his last six under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over the duo of Paul Felder and Alex Oliveira.
