This weekend’s UFC Fight Night: Poirier vs. Hooker card has taken a hit as Miranda Maverick has been pulled from a bout against Mara Romero Borella due to injury.
Combate first reported the news, but the nature of Maverick’s injury or how long she’ll be out of action for is unknown at this time. Borella is expected to remain on the card at this time, as UFC officials are seeking a replacement for her to face.
Borella (11-8-0-3NC) enters the contest on a three fight losing streak, dropping bouts to Lauren Murphy, Montana De La Rosa and Cortney Casey. Borella hasn’t picked up a victory in over a year, with that last win coming at UFC Fight Night Fortaleza in February of 2019. Borella has suffered eight losses as a professional MMA fighter and half of them came by way of KO/TKO.
UFC Fight Night: Poirier vs. Hooker takes place on Saturday, June 27 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Dustin Poirier and Dan Hooker headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on ESPN.
