Neil Magny vs. Geoff Neal has been added to the UFC card on May 8 and Maycee Barber books her next fight and much more — Find out who the rising star will take on next and all the latest news in your Fightful fight announcements.
Neil Magny vs. Geoff Neal
Neil Magny (24-8) and Geoff Neal (13-3) will clash on May 8 on a card headlined by bantamweights TJ Dillashaw and Cory Sandhagen reports ESPN's, Brett Okamoto. Magny (no.9), who holds the second-most wins in the welterweight division's history behind Georges St-Pierre, will look to get back on track after suffering a five-round decision loss to Michael Chiesa on January 20 on Fight Island. Neal (no.11) is also coming off a loss to Stephen "Wonderboy" Thompson in his first-ever UFC main event in December.
Maycee Barber vs. Miranda Maverick
Maycee Barber (8-2) and Miranda Maverick (9-2) will fight on July 24 in the flyweight division, ESPN was told by Dana White. Barber (no.14) is coming off of a two-fight losing streak both by unanimous decision to Roxanne Modafferi and most recently Alexa Grasso. Maverick (no.15) debuted in the UFC by TKO against Liana Jojua due to a cut. She returned on March 27 at UFC 260 and won a unanimous decision against Gillian Robertson.
Julia Budd vs. Dayana Silva
Former Bellator featherweight champion Julia Budd (14-3) will face off against Dayana Silva (9-5) at Bellator 257, reports MMA Junkie. Budd, 37, most recently competed at Bellator 244 in August when she defeated Jessy Miele in her first fight since losing the title to Cris Cyborg. Silva, a former Dana White's Contender Series alumnus, defeated Tayna Lamounier by a unanimous decision in August after losing a split decision to Mariana Morais.
Aspen Ladd vs. Macy Chiasson
ESPN report that Aspen Ladd (9-1) will return to the Octagon for the first time since 2019 and will face Macy Chiasson (7-1) at a UFC event on July 24. Ladd (no.3) defeated Yana Kunitskaya by third-round TKO in her most recent fight but was sidelined in 2020 after two fights both fell through. Julianna Pena withdrew from their fight due to an injury. Three months later, Ladd was scheduled to fight Sara McMann, but a knee injury forced Ladd out of that bout and any possible matchups for the remainder of the year. Chiasson (no.9) has rebounded from her first pro loss to Lina Lansberg with consecutive decision victories over Marion Reneau and Shanna Young
Ode Osbourne vs. Amir Albazi
MMA Junkie reports that Ode Osbourne (9-3) will make his flyweight debut against Amir Albazi (14-1) on a UFC card on July 17. Osbourne will eventually compete at flyweight after he had to withdraw from his original 125lb debut vs. Jerome Rivera in January. Osbourne was then booked against Denys Bondar in February at a 140-pound catchweight. When Bondar withdrew, Rivera ironically stepped in but the fight was at 145lb instead of flyweight, and Osbourne knocked out Rivera in 26 seconds. Albazi is yet to lose in the UFC, with a first-round submission of Malcolm Gordon in July, and a unanimous decision over Zhalgas Zhumagulov at UFC 257 under his belt.
