The Bellator MMA Featherweight Title is going to be defended in the main event of Bellator 209 according to MMA Junkie as champion Patricio Pitbull defends the gold against Emmanuel Sanchez.
Pitbull (27-4-0) is going to be making the second defense of his championship, last defending it against Daniel Weichel at Bellator 203. Pitbull is currently in his second reign as Bellator MMA Featherweight Champion, with his first reign starting when the fighter defeated Pat Curran at Bellator 123. Pitbull has suffered four defeats as a professional MMA fighter and they all came to past Bellator MMA/UFC champions.
Sanchez (17-3-0) enters the contest on the strength of a four fight winning streak and he hasn’t suffered a defeat in over two years. Sanchez is also getting his first title shot in Bellator MMA, despite having been with the promotion for over three years. Sanchez has suffered just three defeats as a professional MMA fighter and all of those losses came by way of decision.
Bellator 209 takes place on Thursday, November 15 from the Menora Mivtachim Arena in Tel Aviv, Israel with Patricio Pitbull and Emmanuel Sanchez headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the Paramount Network.
