Report: Rachael Ostovich Attacked, Suffered Facial Injuries

MMA

Rachael Ostovich was scheduled to fight Paige VanZant this January at UFC Fight Night Brooklyn, which marks the UFC’s debut on ESPN+.

However, a report from TMZ is stating that Ostovich is currently hospitalized after allegedly being attacked by someone who is close to the fighter. Ostovich apparently suffered a broken orbital bone during the attack, which is an injury that could cause her to miss the UFC Fight Night Brooklyn event.

The report from TMZ also states that Ostovich suffered serious injuries, but outside of the broken orbital bone, no other injuries were revealed. Ostovich also suffered the attack in Honolulu, Hawaii, but an exact location wasn't revealed.

There has been no comment yet from the UFC about that status of the bout at UFC Fight Night Brooklyn or from Ostovich about the alleged attack.

Ostovich is 1-1-0 in the UFC (4-4-0 overall), having defeated Karine Gevorgyan and suffering a loss to Montana De La Rosa. Ostovich also competed on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 26, making it to the quarterfinals before losing to Barb Honchak by unanimous decision. Ostovich was last seen in action at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 27 Finale in July of this year, suffering a loss to the aforementioned De La Rosa.
