A flyweight division attraction between #3 Ray Borg and #7 Brandon Moreno, originally set for UFC 223, has been re-booked for UFC Fight Night Chile according to Ariel Helwani of MMA Fighting.
The bout had been canned after former UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor attacked a bus full of UFC stars prior to UFC 223, an attack that caused Borg to suffer an eye injury and the bout to be canceled.
Borg (11-3-0) is going to be competing for the first time since losing his UFC Flyweight Title shot to Demetrious Johnson at UFC 216. Borg has earned a total of five wins under the UFC banner and only two of those wins came over ranked opposition. Borg has also gotten his last three wins by way of decision and it has been nearly three years since he got a win via finish.
Moreno (14-4-0) is looking to rebound from his first loss in the UFC, which came against Sergio Pettis in the main event of UFC Fight Night Mexico City. Moreno also competed on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 24, losing to Alexandre Pantoja in the opening round of the reality show. Moreno is also a longtime veteran of the World Fighting Federation promotion, winning all five fights he fought there.
UFC Fight Night Chile takes place on Saturday, May 19 from the Movistar Arena in Santiago, Chile with Santiago Ponzinibbio and Kamaru Usman headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on UFC Fight Pass.
