A middleweight division attraction has been added to the Bellator 204 card according to Sherdog as Romero Cotton is going to be in action against Willie Whitehead.
Cotton (2-0-0) has spent his entire professional MMA career competing in Bellator MMA, defeating the duo of Aaron Rodriguez and Justin Reeser. Cotton has no amateur MMA experience to speak of, but was a highly touted high school and NCAA amateur wrestler. Cotton is competing for the second time in 2018, making this year the first time he has fought twice in a calendar year since turning pro in 2017.
Whitehead (2-2-0) is going to be making his Bellator MMA debut in this fight and the competitor hasn’t picked up a win in nearly a year. Whitehead has fought twice in the Legacy Fighting Alliance, defeating Virgil Knight and suffering a defeat to Tim Hiley. Whitehead has fought a total of six times as a professional and amateur MMA fighter, but none of those bouts have gone the distance.
Bellator 204 takes place on Friday, August 17 from the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota with Darrion Caldwell and Noad Lahat headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the Paramount Network.
