Ryan Hall has been pulled from his fight with Ricardo Lamas at UFC Fight Night: Smith vs. Rakic.
MMA Junkie first reported the news. No reason has been given for Hall’s withdrawal. The UFC is currently seeking a short-notice opponent for Lamas.
Hall's removal comes as a big blow to both the fighter and diehard MMA fans. His divisive style of top caliber submissions and ranged kicks have earned him the scalps of Darren Elkins, B.J. Penn, Gray Maynard and Artem Lobov.
Lamas (19-8-0) is 1-4 in his last five UFC fights. His only win in that run is against Elkins at UFC Fight Night Buenos Aires in May 2018. Despite his eight professional losses, Lamas has never been submitted.
UFC Fight Night: Smith vs. Rakic is set for Saturday, August 29 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Anthony Smith and Aleksander Rakic headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
