Sean O'Malley has no known fractures following his injury at UFC 252, but he will need an MRI.
O’Malley competed in the co-main event of UFC 252, suffering a first-round TKO loss to Marlon Vera. "Sugar" Sean looked fleet-footed early but suffered a leg injury that led to his eventual demise. O’Malley seemingly suffered an ankle and/or lower leg injury moments before suffering the TKO loss.
Ariel Helwani of ESPN says that O’Malley had an x-ray on his lower leg and ankle, but no fractures were found. He will, however, need an MRI once the swelling in that area goes down.

“X-ray on his ankle/lower leg came back OK. No fractures but MRI is needed (once swelling goes down) to look for ligament & tendon tears. They will scan knee too. Can’t have a MRI until swelling subsided.”
No timetable yet.
O’Malley suffered the first loss of his professional MMA career, but this was the second time he suffered an ankle/low leg injury. O'Malley injured his leg in a fight with Andre Soukhamthath at UFC 222.
UFC 252 took place from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday, August 15. Miocic defeated Cormier by unanimous decision (49-46, 49-46, 48-47) to cap off their trilogy.
