Shooto Brazil is holding an event on Sunday, March 1 and as a part of that event, four women will compete in a one night tournament and the winner will enter the third season of the Professional Fighters League (PFL).
MMA Fighting is reporting that Dayana Silva, Mariana Morais, Bianca Daimoni and Yana Gadelha will battle for a shot to enter PFL season three and win $1 million. The report states that Silva will face Morais in the first round, while Daimoni faces Gadelha in the other opening round bout. The first round encounters are going to be contested with two five minute rounds, while the finals are contest with three five minute rounds.
The winner will not only get to compete in the third season of the PFL, but the winner will become the first ever Shooto Brazil Women’s Lightweight Champion.
This tournament is a part of the PFL’s international expansion, as other promotions in Australia, Russia, Germany and the United Arab Emirates will also hold one night tournaments for fighters to enter the PFL season three.
There are no broadcast plans yet for the March 1 event, as all PFL events in season two aired on ESPN+ and ESPN 2.
