A replacement fighter is being sought by UFC officials for Wood, who is expected to remain on the card at this time.

Wood (14-3-0) is currently undefeated in UFC competition, having defeated Johnny Eduardo by second round submission at UFC Fight Night Utica. Wood is a former Cage Warriors Bantamweight Champion and defended the gold three times before signing with the UFC earlier this year. Wood has competed seventeen times as a professional MMA fighter and just two of those bouts went the distance.

UFC 232 takes place on Saturday, December 29 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson headlining. Fightful is going to be providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
