UFC Hall Of Fame member Royce Gracie competed in the first ever UFC event and would win three of the first four tournaments the promotion out on.
It would appear that another member of the legendary Gracie Family may be on their way to the UFC according to Brett Okamoto of ESPN as the promotion is trying to sign Kron Gracie to a contract. The report also states that the UFC would like to have Gracie debut at UFC 233, which is set for January 26 in Anaheim, California.
Gracie is currently 4-0-0 as a professional MMA fighter, but he hasn’t fought in almost two years, with that last bout coming in December of 2016. Gracie has primarily competed in the Rizin promotion, having defeated the trio of UFC veteran Tatsuya Kawajiri, Hideo Tokoro and Erson Yamamoto. Gracie has gotten all four of his professional MMA victories by way of submission, with three of those four wins coming in the fights opening round.
There has been no comment from either the UFC or Gracie on the potential signing, but UFC 233 is just over two months away. Gracie does train with Nick and Nate Diaz, while also running his own gym in California.
