A featherweight division attraction could be coming to the upcoming UFC 223 card as Zabit Magomedsharipov is in action against Kyle Bochniak.
It was Magomedsharipov who announced the fight via Instagram:
Magomedsharipov (14-1-0) has already earned two victories under the UFC banner, last defeating Sheymon Moraes at UFC Fight Night Shanghai. Magomedsharipov fought a total of six times in the Absolute Championship Berkut promotion and none of those bouts went past the second round. Magomedsharipov hasn’t suffered a defeat in almost five years, with that last loss coming to Igor Egorov at Pro FC 47.
Bochniak (8-2-0) has rotated wins and losses throughout his UFC run, with his last bout being a win over Brandon Davis at UFC 220. Bochniak also competed in the CES MMA promotion, with four of his six wins in the promotion coming by KO/TKO or submission. Bichniak has seen all four of his bouts in the UFC go the distance and the competitor hasn’t gotten a finish in over two years.
UFC 223 takes place on Saturday, April 7 from the Barclays Arena in Brooklyn, New York with Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
