Pantoja defended the UFC Flyweight Title successfully for the third time, putting Kai Asakura to sleep with a second round rear naked choke. After the fight, Pantoja called out the retired Flyweight GOAT Demetrious "Mighty Mouse" Johnson for a fight.

Elsewhere on the show, former UFC champions met much different resutls as Ciryl Gane defeated Alexander Volkov by split decision. However, former Middleweight Champion Chris Weidman lost to Eryk Anders via TKO, and Aljamain Sterling dropped a bout to undefeated Movsar Evloev via unanimous decision.

Some other names familiar to longtime fans include Clay Guida, who turned 43 years old at midnight. He dropped his third straight fight in a submission loss to Chase Hooper. Michael Chiesa earned a finish win over Max Griffin.
