Michael Chiesa vs. Neil Magny

Round One: Bruce Buffer introduces these two nine-year UFC veterans, referee Marc Goddard gives his final instructions and a touch of the gloves means this mid-week, afternoon marquee is officially underway. Chiesa immediately rushes the center of the octagon and latches onto Magny but Magny pushes him away with ease. Magny, as always, pushes the pace early and often and lands a nice left hook that garners the attention of Chiesa. Magny makes Chiesa pay for teasing a level change by meeting his body with a right hook that for the moment, backs him off. Chiesa faints a level change then surges toward Magny and successfully gets the takedown with just under two-minutes to work. Chiesa drops a n elbow from half-guard. Chiesa continues to work the body of Magny but doesn't seem to do much damage as the opening frame of this potential five-round tilt comes to a close.

Round Two: The second round begins with Chiesa eating a lead leg kick from Magny and initiates the clinch but Magny reverses the momentum and pushes Chiesa against the fence. Chiesa then gets control back against the fence and trips up Magny for his second takedown of the fight but this time immediately looks to transition to Magny's back. Magny sneakily turns out of the attempt and gets back to his feet but Chiesa again trips him up and this time is in mount and immediately drops an elbow that stuns Magny. Chiesa ends back up in Magny's guard but is able to push himself into side control, where he continues to drop elbows on Magny. Chiesa continues the ground and pound drops yet another elbow on Magny as round two comes to an end.

Round Three: Round three of a possible five round affair is underway and Magny initiates the clinch and presses Chiesa up against the fence. Chiesa lands a nice straight left that stops Magny in his tracks and Chiesa is the one to initiate the clinch, this time but Magny reverses momentum and now has Chiesa against the cage wall. They end up tripping each other up and Chiesa ends up on top and in mount and tries to secure a guillotine choke but Magny rolls out of it and Chiesa ends up in Magny's half guard and lands a few shots of ground and pound before the round comes to a close and this one is headed for the main event rounds.

Round Four: The fourth round is underway and Magny continues to push the pace on the feet as he has done for the previous three rounds. Chiesa gathers himself and pushes Magny against the cage and gets another takedown. Magny tries to put Chiesa in a triangle choke from the bottom with his leg but Chiesa is patient and rolls out of it and ends up on top as the round comes to an end and we're headed for the fifth and final round.

Round Five: After twenty minutes between this welterweight pairing, it appears that Neil Magny needs a finish to steal this win over Michael Chiesa. The final round is underway and Magny comes straight at Chiesa and Chiesa meets him with a nice straight left but it doesn't deter Magny from coming straight forward. Chiesa uses Magny's pressure against him and latches onto Magny and pushes him against the fence in the clinch. Roxanne Modafferi vs. Viviane Araujo

Round One: A classic matchup of veteran (Modafferi) and prospect (Araujo) is underway after referee Keith Peterson gives the OK. Araujo is throwing heavy right hands right out of the gate and she stings Modafferi with a right hook that causes some swelling under Modafferi's left eye just a minute into this one. Araujo drills Modafferi with a pair of left jabs that cause some swelling under Modafferi's right eye as well. Araujo lands combo that ends with yet another right hook but Modafferi is able to initiate the clinch against the fence but Araujo flips onto Modafferi's back and locks in a rear-naked choke but Modafferi is saved by the bell and we'll head to round two.

Araujo stuns Modafferi with a straight left and Modafferi goes for a level change but Araujo stuffs the attempt, goes for Modafferi's back but decides to circle back to the center of the octagon. Modafferi drills Araujo with a left hook that sends the Brazilian to the canvas but it's not clear if it's because of the punch or if she stumbled. Araujo has seen enough and explodes for a hard takedown and attempts to lock-in an arm-triangle choke but the bell yet again saves Modafferi from possibly being finished and this one will see a third and final round.

Round Three: The final frame gets underway and Modaferri comes forward with a bevy of punches but nothing seems to land but she sneaks in a takedown but Araujo gets back to her feet. Araujo circles back to the center but changes levels and gets Modafferi to the mat with a solid takedown.
