Play-by-Play

(#1) Max Holloway vs. (#3) Yair Rodriguez

Round One - Holloway, in true Holloway fashion brings the pressure early and often but walks into a pair of leg kicks from Rodriguez, who partially lands a high kick to boot. Rodriguez continues to eat at the lead leg of Holloway, who responds with a step-in right hook, teases a takedown and rips a hook to the body. Rodriguez keeps on chopping down the lead leg of Holloway and Rodriguez is sporting a bit of a cut under his left eye. Rodriguez catches a spinning back kick from Holloway and looks for the back but Holloway circles out and gets back to the center of the octagon where he just avoids a jump kick from Rodriguez at the buzzer as the opening frame comes to a close.

Round Two - Rodriguez picks right up where he left off and continues to chop at Holloway's lead leg but Holloway counters with a slick 1-2 that lands. Rodriguez misses a spinning kick and eats a hook to the body from Holloway for his troubles. Holloway is starting to find his range and lands another 1-2 but Rodriguez comes right back and fires off a right hook and follows it up with another lead leg kick. Holloway continues to work the body and rips off a straight right that lands flush, Rodriguez had a step-in elbow blocked and falls forward but the buzzer sounds before Holloway can take advantage of the slip.

Round Three - Holloway continues to push the pace to begin the round but walks into a counter left from Rodriguez after he avoided a right hook from Holloway, who then looks for a takedown but Rodriguez stuffs the attempt but then slips and Holloway ends up with top control. Rodriguez scrambles, Holloway holds firm and tries to unload some shots but Rodriguez is doing a good job of not allowing any separation. Holloway's looking for the neck but Rodriguez scrambles and gets back to his feet where he lands a quick 1-2, Holloway trips him up, grabs the neck but Rodriguez spins back and again gets back to the feet. Both men fire off heavy shots, seemingly everything is landing, Holloway drills Rodriguez with a knee to the body, Holloway trips him up and ends the round in top control as the buzzer sounds to send this one to main event rounds.

Round Four - Holloway opens the first of two possible main event rounds with a pair of jabs that land, Rodriguez responds with a straight right, Holloway locks Rodriguez up in the clinch, looks for the neck, Rodriguez tries to toss himself to the mat, Holloway squeezes the neck even tighter but Rodriguez is able to slip out of danger, latches onto Holloway's leg but the former champion scrambled and ends up in top position before Rodriguez quickly scrambles back to his feet. Holloway continues the forward pressure and nearly walks into a flying knee from Rodriguez as the horn sounds to send this one to round number five.

Round Five - We're somehow in the fifth round of yet another Max Holloway thriller, the pair touch gloves and here we go. Rodriguez partially lands a spinning kick to the body, Holloway counters with a pair of knees straight up the middle to the midsection of Rodriguez, who throws a wild Yair Rodriguez kick that just misses , he follows it up with a right hook that lands flush but he slips, Holloway lands on top, looks for the arm but Rodriguez scrambles back up to the feet. Rodriguez lands a step-in elbow on the bridge of Holloway's nose, Rodriguez follows it up with a straight right, Holloway waves to the ref, signaling that he's got poked in the eye, the fight stops for a moment but is quickly resumed. Holloway looks for the clinch, Rodriguez drills him with an elbow on the break, Rodriguez throws one last Hail Mary spinning back kick, Holloway avoids and latches on for the clinch as the buzzer sounds to send this one to the judges' scorecards. What a fight.

Ben Rothwell vs. Marcos Rogerio de Lima

Round One - Rothwell sticks a jab but de Lima lands a pair of thumping lead leg kicks then drills Rothwell with an overhand right that wobbles him, de Lima continues the pressure, lands a bevy of shots, Rothwell continues to wobble, de Lima lands another right that gives Rothwell noodle legs and folds forward to one knee before bouncing back up and it appears as if Rothwell is out on his feet and that's enough for referee Herb Dean to wave this one off. What a performance for de Lima.

Result: Marcos Rogerio de Lima def. Ben Rothwell via TKO (0:32, R1)

Felicia Spencer vs. Leah Letson

Round One - Spencer wastes no time and jumps in looking for the clinch, Letson stymies the attempt, Spencer is relentless and continues to push forward, lands some shots inside the clinch, hooks a leg but Letson has some tough defense and doesn't allow the takedown. Spencer circles back to the center of the octagon for just a moment but goes right back inside of the clinch but Letson isn't having any of it and gets back to the middle of the cage where Spencer again pushed her right back against the fence. Against the cage, Spencer lands a few slicing elbows and heavy shots, Letson throws back but the buzzer sounds to end the round.

Round Two - Much like the opening frame, Spencer goes right for the clinch and presses Letson against the fence and this time, she gets the hip toss in and gets the fight to the mat but Letson immediately scrambles back to her feet but Spencer quickly trips her right back down but Letson continues to scramble and again, gets back to her feet. Spencer gets right back to the clinch and lands some shots while locked up and uses it to get yet another takedown, she looks for the neck but the buzzer sounds which ends round number two.

Round Three - Spencer begins the final round much like the previous two rounds, shoots right in for the clinch but is stopped in her tracks by a straight right from Letson then Letson lands a takedown of her own, Spencer looks for an armbar but uses it to sweep to top control and reverses the momentum. Spencer starts unloading shots, drills Letson with an elbow, Letson looks to close the space but Spencer is relentless and another elbow is all she wrote as this one is waved off. An extremely tough, grinding win for Felicia Spencer.

Result: Felicia Spencer def. Leah Letson via TKO (4:25, R3)

Miguel Baeza vs. Khaos Williams

Round One - Williams opens the bout with a pair of leg kicks that both narrowly miss and follows it up with a left hook that also misses the mark. Baeza shoots for a takedown but is stuffed by Williams, who lands a kick to Baeza's lead leg. Baeza opens up with a high kick but it's blocked by Williams but Baeza grabs at Williams' leg and looks for a leg lock, Williams rolls out and starts landing hammer-fists while seated by the side of Baeza, who spins and looks for the neck but the buzzer sounds to end the opening frame.

Round Two - Baeza opens the frame with a lead leg kick, Williams responds with a straight right and follows it up with a lead leg kick of his own and drills Baeza with a straight left. Williams continues the pressure with a jab and an uppercut to the body but Baeza stops his momentum with straight right but Williams lands a body kick a bit too low which causes a brief pause in the action. Baeza gets a minute to recover and the fight is resumed but the buzzer immediately sounds to end the round.

Round Three - Baeza opens the third and final round with a pair of leg kicks that land, Williams throws a massive left hook that are mostly blocked by Baeza, lands a spinning back kick to the body then drops Baeza with a straight right, he rushes in for the finish and gets the stoppage. Khaos Williams with a massive win.

Result: Khaos Williams def. Miguel Baeza via TKO (1:02, R3)

(#15) Song Yadong vs. Julio Arce

Round One - Yadong opens the action with a lead leg kick that lands then follows it up with an overhand right that just misses. Yadong throws a head kick but Arce ducks out of danger and lands a jab. Yadong's right hook attempt lands flush then drills Arce with a kick to the body, follows it up with a hook to the body and Arce throws a flurry of shots that are all well blocked by Yadong as the buzzer sounds to end the opening frame.

Round Two - Arce lands a straight right to start the round, Yadong follows suit and lands one of his own and then wobbles Arce with a follow up shot, continues the onslaught with a right hook that drops Arce and after a few follow up shots this one is waved off. Statement win by Yadong.
