Former UFC middleweight champion, Robert Whittaker and top contender, Dricus Du Plessis are set to meet at UFC 290 on July 8 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
UFC President Dana White officially confirmed the booking via a live video stream on Friday. Whittaker is 4-1 in his last five Octagon outings and is coming off a unanimous decision win over, Marvin Vettori, at UFC Paris last September. Du Plessis meanwhile is currently riding a seven-fight winning streak and will look to build on a second-round TKO victory over, Derek Brunson, back at UFC 285 in March.
