Ronda Rousey Signs Full Time Contract With WWE, Appears At WWE Royal Rumble 2018

Ronda Rousey just isn't going to do a one shot deal with the WWE -- she's heading in full time.

ESPN reports that Ronda Rousey has signed a full time contract with the WWE. She spoke to the outlet about her career move.

"This is my life now. First priority on my timeline for the next several years. This is not a smash-and-grab; this is not a publicity stunt," Rousey told ESPN's Ramona Shelburne. "When I first met with Triple H, I told him, 'There are other things I can do with my time that'll make way more money, but I won't enjoy nearly as much.'"

The article went up immediately after Rousey appeared at tonight's Royal Rumble. After Asuka won the titular match, she stared down both women's champions Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss in the ring. That's when Rousey arrived, wearing a t-shirt inspired by Roddy Piper's infamous shirt. Rousey stared down all three women before extending her hand to Asuka. She slapped it away as Rousey instead pointed to the WrestleMania sign.

She exited the ring and went over to Stephanie McMahon, who was doing commentary, and extended her hand again. McMahon obliged.

Rousey is, of course, best known for her run in the mixed martial arts world, amassing a 12-2 record, going undefeated from 2011 until 2015, when she was knocked out by Holly Holm. She hasn't fought since UFC 207 on December 30, 2016 where she lost to Amanda Nunes.
