Warlley Alves needed a new opponent for UFC Fight Night Gdansk after Jim Wallhead pulled out of the fight and he got one of the form of Salim Touhari.
Combate first reported the late notice opponent.
Alves (10-2-0) enters the fight riding a two fight losing streak, having dropped fights to the duo of Bryan Barberena and Kamaru Usman. Alves had won four fights in the UFC prior to the losing streak, most notably defeating Colby Covington by submission at UFC 194. Alves is also a longtime veteran of the Jungle Fight promotion, winning all of the fights he competed at in the promotion.
Touahri (10-1-0) is going to be making his UFC debut in this fight and he does so on the strength of a five fight winning streak. Touahri is also returning to action for the first time in almost a year, with his last bout coming against Bayzet Khatkhokhu at Tech-Krep FC Final Selection 2016 Final. Touahri has only seen two of his eleven pro MMA bouts go the distance and eight of his fights ended within the opening round.
