A welterweight division affair has now been added to the upcoming IFC 210 card as #12 Kamaru Usman will be in the Octagon against Sean Strickland.
Usman (9-1-0) is currently undefeated under the UFC banner, with the four victories in the promotion coming over Hayder Hassan, Leon Edwards, Alexander Yakovlev and Warlley Alves. Usman also fought three times in the Legacy Fighting Championships, most notably defeating Marcus Hicks at Legacy FC 33. Usman also performs color commentary for the Titan Fighting Championships promotion alongside Fightful’s own Showdown Joe, Titan events air live on UFC Fight Pass.
Strickland (18-1-0) will be entering the fight while riding a three fight winning streak, with those wins coming over the trio of Tom Breese, Alex Garcia and Igor Araujo. Strickland has only suffered a single defeat thus far as a professional MMA fighter, that lone loss came to Santiago Ponzinibbio at UFC Fight Night 61. Strickland is also a longtime veteran of the King Of The King promotion, where he held the King Of The Cage Welterweight Title, he would relinquish it upon signing with the UFC.
UFC 210 takes place on Saturday, April 8 from the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York with Daniel Cormier and Anthony Johnson headlining.
