Boxing veteran Shannon Briggs admits to WABC Radio Host Rita Cosby that he took performance-enhancing drugs for about six months. The WBA recently suspended him for failing a PED test before a planned fight with Fres Oquendo.
For the first time, Briggs responds to that suspension and test saying, 'I did take a performance enhancement thing. I do apologize for those who feel that I hurt them. I will admit to that. Yes, I did. I take full responsibility for what I did.'
Briggs tells Cosby that now 'I'm 100% clean'. He says he got the PEDs from a trainer, but declines to name the trainer, and says he is looking forward to boxing again soon, and is planning a fight in November or December.
Briggs also talks about the recent retirement of Wladimir Klitschko, the upcoming Mayweather/McGregor bout, and his new 'Lets Go Champ' Sports & Entertainment company.
