August 22, 2020 marked the wild and crazy ride that would begin for Thunder Rosa as she simultaneously represented NWA and debuted for AEW on AEW Dynamite. To report that her continued tenure has been enjoyable would be an understatement for the rising star. In spite of the pandemic stricken year of 2020 that trickled its way into 2021, AEW has come leaps and bounds answering the call to improve and highlight their AEW Women's Division. With a tenuous start that was plagued with injuries, the AEW Women's Division has risen, evolved, and taken the opportunity to highlight its rising stars and their stars of tomorrow. One such star was indeed Thunder Rosa.
Thunder Rosa even prior to her full time status with AEW proved herself to be a valuable integral part of the roster. Effectively pushing others to rise right along with her as she and others all competed for their own coveted AEW contracts. From her intense battles with Ivelisse and Diamante the Women's Tag Team Cup Winners. To her battling the longest reigning former AEW Women's Champion Hikaru Shida. And of course onward to her main event all out wars with the new reigning AEW Women's Champion, Dr. Britt Baker, DMD., (pun not intended.)
All in all Thunder Rosa has had one heck of a career defining year and she's clearly not done yet. From humble beginnings to traveling the globe and making a home for herself on AEW Dynamite on TnT. From representing a division whose history began in 1935 the likes of the NWA Women's Division to her rise in AEW and reaching for that shiny new AEW Women's Championship Title! Thunder Rosa is hitting her stride with each appearance and has proven herself time and again whether on AEW Dark, AEW Dark: Elevation, and through on to AEW Dynamite.
There are few women who can boast co main eventing AEW programming and one of them is the resident D-M-D…the other? You guessed it - Thunder Rosa!
