Thiago Santos headlined UFC Fight Night Prague this past weekend, defeating Jan Blachowicz by third round TKO.

The light heavyweight contender says the next shot at the UFC Light Heavyweight Title should go to him.

“I beat the number four [ranked light heavyweight] and number three is fighting for the title,” Santos said at the UFC Prague post-fight press conference (via MMA Fighting). “I get the next title shot.”

Jon Jones is the current UFC Light Heavyweight Champion and he is defending the gold against Anthony Smith in the main event of UFC 235 on March 2.

Santos seemingly wants to fight Jones for the gold, so he can shock the world and pull a major upset.

“I know if I fight Jon Jones, he’s going to be the favorite,” Santos said. “But I’ve been shocking the world and I’m going to shock it again. All I want is my opportunity.”

A victorious Santos is tied at #6 in the UFC Light Heavyweight Division rankings and there is only two fighters ahead of him that hasn’t had a shot at the gold yet, which is Corey Anderson, who is tied with Santos in the #6 spot and Blachowicz, whom Santos just defeated.
