TJ Dillashaw won the UFC Bantamweight Title for a second time when he defeated Cody Garbrandt in the co-main event of UFC 217.
The bantamweight champion has again set his sights on UFC Flyweight Champion Demetrious Johnson and the champ wants “Mighty Mouse” to not be scared about taking the fight.
“Don’t be scared, man. Let’s get this done,” Dillashaw said to TMZ. “This is the fight that makes sense for you and me. This is the fight the fans want to see. This is the fight I want to see. Not sure if you want to see it, but man up – let’s do it.”
Dillashaw and Johnson have been linked together before, but Johnson turned down the super fight to defend his title against Ray Borg at UFC 216.
While this is now a second attempt to get the fight signed by Dillashaw, the bantamweight champion believes the fight will happen this time around.
“This is a fight that will happen – this is a fight that will get the fans entertained. You’ll be glued to the TV because he’s fighting me, not because he’s just fighting. That’s why he doesn’t sell tickets – because everyone knows what’s going to happen,” says Dillashaw.
Johnson broke the consecutive title defense record for male UFC competitors at UFC 216, but the champion hasn’t announced what his next step is going to be.
