The United States Anti-Doping Agency was brought in by the UFC to clean up the company, and bodies are dropping like flies.
Ricardo "Demente" Abreu is the latest fighter to face a two-year suspension after testing positive for steroid metabolites from a June 3 out-of-competition drug test. Norandrosterone and noretiocholanolone were the substances USADA discovered in the test.
The TUF Brazil 3 veteran Abreu is able to return to the UFC July 1, 2018. He'll be 34 years old.
Abreu (5-1) most recently fought in June 2015 at UFC Figth Night 68, dropping a split decision to Jake Collier. Abreu is 1-1 in the UFC, having beaten Wagner Silva Gomes in 2014.
Most recently, UFC featherweight title challenger Chad Mendes was suspended for two years, and blamed his drug test failure on psoriasis cream. Both Jon Jones and Brock Lesnar are awaiting hearings and possible suspensions in relations to their failed drug tests.
