UFC has seemingly leaked that the UFC 257 main event of Conor McGregor vs. Dustin Poirier II at UFC 257 on Fight Island is now for the lightweight championship.
Dana White has been confident about talking reigning lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov into continuing fighting and seemed against making McGregor vs. Poirier for either the undisputed or even interim lightweight title. However, the UFC chatbot on Twitter has reportedly leaked that the fight is now for the lightweight championship.

With UFC 257 approaching fast, it is unknown whether White has had his meeting with Nurmagomedov and if he has persuaded him to come back despite his vow to retire after his win over Justin Gaethje at UFC 254.
