Wanderlei Silva is returning after a very long absence to face Chael Sonnen in the main event of the Bellator 180 pay-per-view.
Silva and Sonnen have had quite the rivalry over the years, but Silva feels that his longtime rival is the biggest joke in the sport.
"He looked (like a) kid,” Silva said on The MMA Hour. "This guy wanna fight with me? [laughs] He's the biggest joke in MMA world, and this time I’m gonna prove. I have a lot of surprises for you guys. You guys are gonna enjoy this fight. … Tito is good, but, him, man, he’s terrible. I think it’s gonna be the most easy money I’m making in all of my life. I think it’s going to be the easiest fight of my life."
Sonnen has already competed once under the Bellator MMA banner, while Silva is going t be making his promotional debut.
The fighters are going to come face to face for the first time in awhile at the Bellator 180 weigh-ins and Silva doesn’t know what he will do when he sees Sonnen.
"When I (see) this guy, I don’t know what’s going to happen,” Silva said. "I’m a professional, but the moment is different. No, I don’t wanna do something before the fight. When I (see) him, I don’t know, everything can happen.”
Bellator 180 takes place on Saturday, June 24 from Madison Square Garden in New York, New York with Wanderlei Silva and Chael Sonnen headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
