Wanderlei Silva Wants Fight With Vitor Belfort In Bellator

MMA

Wanderlei Silva and Vitor Belfort have clashed once before, with Belfort getting an ultra fast knockout win at UFC 17.5 in October of 1998.

While Belfort is still a part of the UFC at the moment, the “Axe Murderer” wants another shot at him and he wants it in Bellator MMA.

“It would be great news if Vitor came to Bellator,” Wanderlei told Luta Livre. “I really hope he does. Bellator will create the masters weight class, only for legends.”

The two were initially set to have their second fight at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 2 Finale, but injuries caused that potential contest to be called off.

Silva even claims that Belfort got lucky in their first encounter and he is sure he get even the score with a second bout.

“Everyone could see he got lucky in the first fight. I didn’t really analyze my opponent’s game plans back then. If you remove that from the equation, I’m sure I can beat Vitor up. So demand that I be the one to welcome him into Bellator. I will beat you up,” says Silva.

Belfort says he is fighting Uriah Hall at a yet to be announced UFC event this coming January, it is going to be the final fight under his current UFC deal.
