Another former UFC star is apparently making their way over to One Championship because Yoshihiro Akiyama has joined the roster.
One CEO Chatri Sityodtong shared the news on Twitter:
I'm thrilled to announce that JMMA Korean-Japanese Legend Yoshihiro "Sexyama" Akiyama (15-6) (otherwise known as Choo Sung-Hoon) has officially signed with ONE Championship!

Akiyama is coming off of a pretty unspectacular run in the UFC, where the fighter went 2-5-0 during a seven fight stint there. Akiyama would pick up victories in the organization over Alan Belcher and Amir Sadollah, but dropped bouts to Chris Leben, Michael Bisping, Vitor Belfort, Jake Shields and Alberto Mina.
A newly signed Akiyama hasn’t competed in over three years, with his last bout being a loss to the aforementioned Mina at UFC Fight Night 79 in November of 2015.
Other former UFC stars that have recently inked deals with One include former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Miesha Tate, former UFC Flyweight Champion Demetrious Johnson and former UFC Lightweight Champion Eddie Alvarez.
