Zabmit Magomedsharipov has some theories as to why his fight with Yair Rodriguez fell through.
Magomedsharipov and Rodriguez were reportedly set to headline a Fight Night card later this month. Rodriguez suffered an ankle injury, according to UFC President Dana White, and the bout was called off.
Magomedsharipov posted his reaction to the news via Twitter. He claimed Rodriguez never signed on for the fight and suggested his potential opponent has "no balls." Either that or the UFC was playing games the whole time:
It’s funny I signed bout agreement few weeks ago, Yair never did, UFC never announced officially main event.
Two options:
1. UFC playing games
2. Yair has no balls
There is no word yet if Magomedsharipov will remain on the card. Calvin Kattar is reportedly ready to step in on short notice for a rematch against the Dagestani dark horse.
UFC Fight Night: Magomedsharipov vs. TBA is set for Saturday, August 29 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event. Broadcast plans have yet to be revealed.
