A lightweight division bout between Nik Lentz and former Bellator MMA Lightweight Champion Will Brooks had been scheduled for the preliminary card of UFC 216.
However, on the day of weigh-ins, it was announced that Lentz had withdrawn from the bout due to the effects of the weight cut.
In an attempt to explain his side of things, the lightweight competitor posted the following statement on Twitter:

Brooks has been looking at things from a different point of view, saying that Lentz simply quit and there was no medical issues:
There was no medical issues. Stop with this BS "medical issues" excuse. He quit and that's all it was. https://t.co/G2fOh9ALXt

There is no word yet from the UFC or from either fighter is the bout is going to be rescheduled or if they will go down entirely different paths.
