The Invicta Fighting Championships Featherweight Title is going to be defended at Invicta FC 24 as champion Megan Anderson defends the gold against Helena Kolesnyk. MMA Fighting first reported the news.

Anderson (8-2-0) is going to be making the first defense of her championship, which she won by defeating Charmaine Tweet at Invicta FC 21. Anderson does enter this fight on the strength of a four fight winning streak, which includes a win over UFC veteran Peggy Morgan. Anderson is competing in her sixth bout in the Invicta FC promotion, the champion has earned a 4-1-0 record thus far.

Kolesnyk (5-0-0-1NC) is going to be making her Invicta FC debut in this fight and none of her pro MMA bouts have gone the distance. Kolesnyk has fought five times in the WBK MMA promotion out of China, where she earned half of her wins there by submission and the other half by KO/TKO. Kolesnyk has seen three of her six professional MMA bouts end in under a minute and only one has made it to the third round.

Anderson had recently angled for a fight with UFC's Cris Cyborg, which didn't come to fruition. We'll have an exclusive interview with Anderson soon.

Invicta FC 24 takes place on Saturday, July 15 from the Scottish Rite Temple in Kansas City, Missouri with Megan Anderson and Helena Kolesnyk headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on UFC Fight Pass.
