It has been over three years since St-Pierre fought. His last fight was in November of 2013 when he had a controversial decision victory over Johny Hendricks. In the post-fight interview, he said he did not know if he would ever fight again. Since then St-Pierre has been involved with a fighter's association and claimed to be a free agent at one time.

Recently, his name came up in a conversation with Anderson Silva, he has also been tied to fights with Robbie Lawler and Michael Bisping. No word has been given on weight class or opponent for St-Pierre's return. When he was active he was a pay-per-view draw for UFC.
