A welterweight division attraction is reportedly set for the UFC 222 card according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal as Mike Pyle could be fighting Zak Ottow.
Pyle (27-13-1) enters the contest in the midst of a two fight losing streak and the fighter hasn’t earned a victory in over two years. Pyle has only won two of his last seven in UFC competition, with that last win coming over Sean Spencer at UFC Fight Night 82. Pyle also returns to action for the first time in over a year, as his last bout came in December of 2016.
Ottow (15-5-0) has won two of four under the UFC banner, but his last bout was a loss to Jingliang Li at UFC Fight Night Shanghai. Ottow has seen three of his four fights in the UFC go the distance and the competitor has a 2-1-0 record in those encounters. Ottow suffered three losses outside of UFC competition, with two of those losses coming to UFC veterans Jacob Volkmann and Mike Rhodes.
UFC 222 takes place on Saturday, March 3 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Cyborg and Yana Kunitskaya headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
