Ronda Rousey Says Wrestling Is Her Life Now

Former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey made her WWE debut at the WWE Royal Rumble event, appearing in a post-match segment with Asuka and both brand women’s champions.

Despite longtime dominance in both the UFC and Strikeforce, a focused Rousey says wrestling is her life now.

“This is my life now,” she said to ESPN. “First priority on my timeline for the next several years. This is not a smash-and-grab; this is not a publicity stunt. When I first met with Triple H, I told him, ‘There are other things I can do with my time that’ll make way more money, but I won’t enjoy nearly as much.’”

Rousey has appeared for the WWE in the past, making a guest appearance alongside The Rock, Stephanie McMahon and Triple H at WWE Wrestlemania 31.

The newly signed WWE superstar is also refusing to say she is retired as a professional MMA fighter.

“(Retirement is) what everybody else seems to say,” Rousey said. “I never retired from judo. If that’s what you guys want to think. All I know is that I really want to devote 100 percent of my time to wrestling right now, and whatever people want to call that, they can call it.”

WWE Wrestlemania 34 is where Rousey is expected to make her pro wrestling debut, although no opponent has been announced at this time.
