Stefan Struve has suffered a shoulder injury and he has been pulled from next month’s UFC Fight Night 105 card, where he was set to headline against former UFC Heavyweight Champion Junior Dos Santos in a rematch of their first encounter.
UFC officials have yet to announce a replacement for Struve, but one is expected to be announced in the coming days.
Dos Santos (18-4-0) has rotated wins and losses in his last seven UFC bouts, earning wins over the likes of Frank Mir, Mark Hunt, Stipe Miocic and Ben Rothwell, while suffering defeats to the likes of Cain Velasquez (twice) and Alistair Overeem. Dos Santos, as was mentioned earlier, is a former UFC Heavyweight Champion, he defeated Cain Velasquez at UFC On Fox 1 to win the belt and he would defend it once before losing it back to Velazquez. Dos Santos hasn’t put a winning streak together in over four years, his last winning streak lasted for a grand total of ten fights.
UFC Fight Night 105 takes place on Sunday, February 19 from the Scotiabank Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada with Junior Dos Santos and an opponent to be announced headlining, the main card will be airing on Fox Sports 1.
