UFC Signs Zabit Magomedsharipov

The Ultimate Fighting Championships (UFC) has signed Zabit Magomedsharipov to a multi-fight contract, the fighters current MMA record stands at 12-1-0.

There is no debut date or opponent set yet for Magomedsharipov, but the fighter will enter the promotion while riding an eight fight winning streak.

Magomedsharipov spent the last two-plus years of his career competing in Absolute Championships Berkut, where he scored victories over Orudzh Zamanov, Artak Nazaryan, Mukhamed Kokov, Abdurahman Temirov, Sheik-Magomed Arapkhanov and Valdines Silva.

It has been over four years since Magomedsharipov suffered the lone defeat of his professional MMA career, which came to Igor Egorov by third round submission at Pro Fighting Championships 47.

While the majority of Magomedsharipov’s fights have come in the country of Russia, the fighter actually does the majority of his training in New Jersey with former UFC Lightweight Champion Frankie Edgar and Team Ricardo Almeida BJJ.

This newly signed UFC fighter has also seen just two of his thirteen professional MMA fights go the distance, the Russian prospect won both of those fights. Magomedsharipov also will make his UFC debut as a featherweight, with the UFC Featherweight Division currently being ruled by champion Jose Aldo and interim champion Max Holloway.
